It may be a relic of the past to close the highway during winter but when I see all the accidents and delays involved in keeping Snoqualmie open, with its attendant costs and the pounding that the adjacent landscape suffers, why bother? Yes, I know, it’s not an interstate. Still, do we really want to try and conquer every inch of pavement in this beautiful area at the expense of its stillness and tranquility.
